We provide credit to finance private equity transactions
Ardian offers investors a range of credit strategies that span the capital structure. Our Private Debt team is one of the leading financiers of mid-market LBOs in Europe. Our teams in London, Paris and Frankfurt invest across the capital structure and are among Europe’s leading providers of unitranche facilities, which combine senior and junior debt in a single funding package. Through our NAV Financing team, Ardian also funds transactions alongside banks in the secondary market, where investors buy portfolios of private equity and infrastructure fund interests from LPs that wish to exit.

Advancing the ESG agenda in credit markets
Ardian’s fifth-generation private debt fund is classified under Article 8 of the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. This requires us to incorporate specific ESG factors into the investment process and report to LPs annually on our portfolio companies’ ESG performance. We work closely with sponsors and investee companies to integrate ESG factors into every stage of the investment process and have agreed several facilities that include an “ESG ratchet”, under which the borrower’s interest rate reduces as certain ESG criteria are met.
